About Our Accreditation

ExVeritas is an internationally recognised certification body operating under multiple national and international accreditation frameworks. Accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom), DANAK (Denmark), and IECEx, ExVeritas provides independent product certification, laboratory testing, and management system certification for equipment and organisations operating in hazardous environments.

Independent accreditation is the foundation of credible certification. It provides manufacturers, operators, and regulators with objective assurance that certification decisions are made competently and impartially, and are internationally accepted.

ExVeritas operates with facilities in the United Kingdom and Denmark, and is part of NMi Group — an international organisation providing testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services across multiple regulated sectors.

Impartiality and Independence

Impartiality is a core requirement of accredited certification. ExVeritas manages potential conflicts of interest through a formal impartiality committee comprising independent experts drawn from oil and gas manufacturing, processing, drilling, and related industries, alongside legal and financial specialists.

All ExVeritas personnel operate under impartiality agreements. Projects are individually assessed for conflict risk, and the overall impartiality framework is reviewed annually through the management review process.

ExVeritas was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2018 — the highest business honour in the United Kingdom — in recognition of financial and business integrity, growth, and sustainability.

UKAS Accreditation

ExVeritas is accredited by UKAS, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, against internationally agreed conformity assessment standards. UKAS is the sole national accreditation body recognised by the UK Government for this purpose.

ExVeritas holds UKAS accreditation for:

  • Testing — ISO/IEC 17025
  • Product Certification — ISO/IEC 17065
  • Management System Certification — ISO/IEC 17021

Where certification is required for public sector tenders, supply chain qualification, or regulated industry procurement — particularly in oil, gas, and utilities — UKAS-accredited certification provides the necessary assurance of competence and impartiality.

ExVeritas also holds UKAS accreditation under a flexible scope scheme, which allows certification against standards not explicitly listed on the standard schedule. Contact ExVeritas to confirm whether a specific standard can be accommodated.

IECEx Accreditation

ExVeritas is an IECEx-accredited Certification Body (IECEx CB), operating the following certification activities under the IECEx Scheme:

  • Product Certification — Issue of IECEx Certificates of Conformity (CoC)
  • Quality System Assessments — Manufacturer quality audits (QAR)
  • Service Facility Certification — Recognised assessment of repair and overhaul facilities (RAR)

ExVeritas also operates accredited IECEx Test Laboratories (IECEx TL) in the United Kingdom (Wrexham).

IECEx provides a globally recognised framework for demonstrating conformance with IEC standards for explosion protection. Certificates issued under this scheme are accepted across participating countries, supporting international market access for Ex equipment without the need for repeated country-by-country certification.

ATEX and UKCA Certification

ExVeritas ApS is notified as an ATEX Notified Body (No. 2804) under EU Directive 2014/34/EU, covering equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Notification was granted by the Danish Safety Technology Authority and is listed on the European Commission’s NANDO database. ExVeritas ApS is accredited by DANAK (Danish National Accreditation Body), Registration Number 7044.

ExVeritas Limited is designated as a UKCA Approved Body (No. 2585) for the UK market, covering equivalent requirements under UK regulations. The Approved Body listing can be verified on the UK Government website.

Together, these designations allow ExVeritas to certify equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres across both EU and UK markets under their respective regulatory frameworks.

Electrical Safety and Global Certification Schemes

IECEE CB Scheme

ExVeritas participates in the IECEE CB Scheme as both a National Certification Body (NCB) and a CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL).

This enables ExVeritas to test electrical and electronic products to international IEC safety standards and issue CB Test Certificates and Reports accepted in over 50 countries. The scheme is operated under:

  • ISO/IEC 17065 for product certification
  • ISO/IEC 17025 for laboratory competence

CB Scheme participation allows manufacturers to use a single set of internationally recognised test results to support market access across multiple jurisdictions, reducing duplication of testing.

North American Testing

ExVeritas is an audited and approved partner test laboratory with Eurofins/MET Lab. This arrangement enables ExVeritas to conduct testing in the United Kingdom for certification under the NRTL (Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratory) and SCC schemes administered under OSHA.

US Coast Guard Recognised Laboratory

ExVeritas is a US Coast Guard accepted independent laboratory for testing electrical equipment in hazardous locations, recognised under Title 46 CFR Part 159. ExVeritas certifications are accepted for electrical equipment covered by 46 CFR Subparts 111.105, 111.106, and 111.108, across a defined range of IEC 60079 series standards.

ExVeritas is listed on the Coast Guard Maritime Information Exchange (CGMIX).

Management Systems Certification

ExVeritas is accredited to provide certification of the following management system standards and related sector schemes, as detailed in the applicable UKAS accreditation schedule:

Where applicable, management system certification can be integrated with product certification activities, quality assurance modules, and regulatory compliance requirements. Integrated audits may reduce overall audit burden for manufacturers operating under multiple certification frameworks.

NMi Group Capabilities

ExVeritas is part of NMi Group, which provides complementary testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services across regulated sectors. Through the NMi Group, clients may also access capabilities including regulated metrology certification, electrical and wireless product testing, cybersecurity certification, and calibration services — supporting broader market access requirements across multiple regulatory frameworks.

CompEx Training Accreditation

ExVeritas is an accredited and licensed CompEx Centre with authorisation to deliver and assess the following units:

  • Ex01–Ex06, ExF, Ex11, Ex12, Ex14, and Refresher Assessment
