Electrical Safety Test and Certification
Electrical Safety Certification for Global Markets
Through ExVeritas Test and Certification services, you can access the major international electrical safety certification schemes, including CE marking (Europe), UKCA Marking (UK) and NRTL certification (North America). ExVeritas is an audited and approved partner test laboratory with Eurofin/MET Lab which entitles ExVeritas to conduct electrical safety testing in the UK for certification under the NRTL and SCC schemes (OSHA).
North American Testing Accreditation
We are also a recognised Certified Body under the IECEE CB Scheme, operating as both a National Certification Body (NCB) and CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL). This enables us to perform accredited electrical safety testing to IEC standards and issue CB Test Certificates that are accepted in more than 50 countries. The CB Scheme helps manufacturers reduce duplication, accelerate approvals, and achieve globally recognised product certification.
Types of Testing
We provide electrical safety testing to harmonised European standards (to allow manufacturers to demonstrate compliance to the European Low Voltage Directive for CE marking) as well as providing them with the confidence to place their products on the market knowing that their products are safe to use. Outside of the EU, many countries require a mandatory 3rd party (accredited) report to electrical safety standards, this includes North American NRTL Listing.
Outside the EU, many countries require third-party accredited testing to electrical safety standards. This includes NRTL Listing in North America, as well as CB Scheme certification under the IECEE.
Our testing extends beyond electrical performance to include hazard evaluations and abnormal operation scenarios (failure mode analysis).
Typical Hazards can include:
- Electric shock and Energy related hazards
- Fire & Heat related hazards.
- Mechanical hazards
- Chemical hazards
- Radiation

Documentation Required for Testing
To initiate electrical safety testing, the following documentation is typically required:
- Test sample(s) for the test and photographs,
- Application Form where include information of the name and addresses of the Applicant, Manufacturer and Factory(ies),
- Hard copies of the marking label(s) for durability test and photograph,
- A description of the equipment,
- Circuit diagrams,
- Component placement drawings,
- BOM list of the components,
- Approvals certificates/datasheets/technical specifications for all safety-critical components,
- Safety instructions (if available)
- User manual (if available)
