IECEx non-electrical certification now available
ExVeritas are pleased to announce that following a successful assessment, our IECEx scope of acceptance has been updated to include IECEx non-electrical Standards:
ISO 80079-36 Part 36: Non-electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres – Basic method and requirements
ISO 80079-37 Part 37: Non-electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres – Non electrical type of protection constructional safety “c”, control of ignition source “b”, liquid immersion “k”.
ExVeritas are amongst the very first IECEx Certification Bodies to be able to issue IECEx non-electrical Certification. We have a long history (over 20 years experience) issuing ATEX non-electrical certificates and have specialist staff and equipment for mechanical and non-electrical approval.
The new IECEx non-electrical certification will allow manufactures to achieve internationally recognised IECEx Certification for all types of electrical and/or non electrical) equipment and is also covered by the QAR (Quality Assurance) programme so that multiple units can be manufactured without 100% inspection being required.
In addition to IECEx non-electrical equipment, ExVeritas was one of the first IECEx Certification Bodies to include ‘assemblies‘ to EN60079-14 (for which we are also UKAS accredited) making us the obvious choice for turnkey approval of large and complex rigs, skids and modular plant. We have extensive experience with most oil tools (from tops drives to shale shakers and BOP’s) and work for some of the largest oil rig and tool manufacturing companies in the world.
ExVeritas offer ATEX, IECEx Certification and Ex Training for people working with non-electrical equipment (CompEx EX11 Mechanical). Our courses include the new ISO 80079-36 & 37 requirements.
ISO 80079-36 Part 36 and ISO 80079-37 Part 37 have already been published as Harmonised European Standards (EN ISO 80079-36:2016 and EN ISO 80079-37:2016) and have superseded the older ATEX Standards such as EN 13463-1:2009 which is now withdrawn.
Its time to get very familiar with the new non-electrical certification and marking…
